Novi, Michigan, lies in Oakland County and has a population of just over 55,000 people. Novi offers an excellent location between Ann Arbor and Detroit (less than 30 miles for both cities), tons of historic sites and quite a few other attractions to enjoy.
Like quite a few other cities in the area, Novi is home to several different lakes, making water sports and outdoor activities high on the list of things residents enjoy most. Walled Lake, Shawood Lake and numerous others can be found within the city’s boundaries. As you might expect, Novi real estate also puts residents within close proximity to stunning natural areas. Tollgate Farm is both a beautiful natural area and a historic park, while Lakeshore Park is another very popular location for residents. Other notable parks include ITC Sports Park, Rotary Park, Orchard Hills, Brookfarm Place and Wildlife Woods to name just a few.
In terms of economic growth, Novi has long been one of the leading cities in the state. It’s also a prime shopping destination, drawing people from Detroit and Ann Arbor. Twelve Oaks Mall is one of the prime shopping areas here, but don’t miss out on the opportunities around Novi Road and I-96, either. In addition, Money Magazine ranked the city as its 48th pick within the Top 100 Best Places to Live, thanks in large part to the significant number of jobs and the rapidly growing economy in the city.
Of course, Novi real estate also gives residents the means to utilize the area’s extensive educational facilities. Novi has a number of higher education options, including Wash College and the Art Institute of Michigan. South University is also located in town. Four different public school districts serve the elementary, middle and high school students of the city, and there are several private education providers in town as well.
